I focus on building robust algorithms.
I am passionate about entrepreneurship and bringing innovative, cutting-edge technologies to produce remarkable user experiences.
Strong experience in 3-D data processing. Comfortable in working in ambiguity to solve challenging imaging problems and defining unique solutions. Focus on image processing and analysis, volumetric visualization, pattern recognition and machine learning. Always looking for bringing smart-creative people together.
Specialties: Software development, with(in) a team. I love C/C++/Matlab/Python. Segmentation, classification, image processing algorithms, computer vision algorithms, algorithm development, reconstruction, computer graphics, machine learning techniques, video processing, registration, 3-D visualization, volume rendering, open-source libraries: VTK (visualization toolkit), IFT (image foresting transform), ITK(segmentation and registration toolkit), OpenCV.
From 2002 to 2007, Andre was a PostDoc with the Medical Imaging Processing Group (MIPG) at the University of Pennsylvania, School of Medicine - Department of Radiology.
Andre holds a Doctor of Science degree and a Master of Science degree in Medical Physics from the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil. He conducted his doctorate research at the University of Pennsylvania from 2000 to 2001. Andre earned his Bachelor degree in Physics from the Federal University of Bahia, Brazil.
