Abstract
In recent years, the importance of urban public transport has gradually increased and public transport has been widely accepted as a low-cost way of travel. Due to the shortcomings of early planning, many bus stops near intersections can now be seen and are accompanied by A large number of left-turn buses. In such cases, the bus will be interwoven with the straight traffic and resulting in low traffic efficiency. In response to the above traffic problems, the establishment of a left-turn bus lane on the right has become a way to relieve traffic pressure. This article provides some insights on the establishment of a left-turn bus and a right-hand bus. Through traffic investigation, data processing and simulation, this paper analyzes the intersections with left-turn bus lines, discusses the process required by left-turn buses when changing lanes. Then analyze the problems of the target intersection, propose alternatives for the left-turn lanes of the buses, and explain the practical scenarios of the schemes and compare the optimization degree of different schemes at the intersections. Finally, choose the most suitable plan for the target intersection. This study found that when the traffic volume of right turning vehicles is low, the left-turning lanes of buses can be set up on the second outer side. When the original intersection has right-turn signal control and the flow of right-turning vehicles is not large, the left-turn lane of the bus can be set up on the far right. When the number of lanes is limited, the left-turn lane and the right-turn lane of the bus can be combined.
